Our desire is to be a community where no one feels alone, whether a person has just joined us or been present for years. We want each person to be accepted and respected and each journey cherished, no matter where a person has been in the past. We long to be a place where people can find hope and healing and the power to change, no matter what they are struggling with in the present.

We recognize that people are unique and there are many contexts where true belonging and community can flourish. There are many groups of people meeting at Cedar Ridge throughout the week seeking to learn, grow and heal together with others in focused and practical ways, being equipped and prepared to walk in greater peace and freedom in daily life, enjoying meaningful relationships with others on the way.

Community

Group to share about practical, spiritual, and connection needs of people in Cedar Ridge.

The Community group is intended to offer a space where subscribers can:

  • share about prayer and invite others to join with you in prayer
  • find practical help recommended by other Cedar Ridgers, or give away or sell personal items
  • invite people to a community-building / social event
  • share about practical ways you see our vision being lived out (For example, sheltering from the frenzied pace of life, serving our neighbors, caring for the poor, living simply and ethically, becoming better people …)
  • for those new to the church to connect with other Cedar Ridgers in your neighborhood

Sunday Book Discussion Group

Sunday Morning Discussion of Philip Yancey’s "What's So Amazing About Grace?"

Sunday Morning Discussion of Philip Yancey’s "What's So Amazing About Grace?" begins June 3. Over the 2012 summer months we will explore grace at the street level. This book will help us answer questions like: If grace is God's love for the undeserving, then what does it look like in action? Yancey sets grace in the midst of life's stark images and tests its mettle against horrific "ungrace."  Please buy and bring your own book.

After the Labor Day holiday, we will begin a longer book discussion focused on reading Scripture called, "The Fire of the Word: Meeting God on Holy Ground" by Chris Webb. We will embark on a journey of learning to read Scripture as a means of encountering God personally. » Read more
