Children and Youth

People can talk about young people as "the church of tomorrow." This is only part of the story. Children and teenagers are every bit a part of our church today. We believe God is just as interested in hearing the sincere prayers of a five-year-old as those of a fifty-five-year-old. To that end, we create age-appropriate contexts and experiences for our young people to learn that they are a vital part of our church at every stage of life.

Children´s Ministry serves children from birth through fifth grade. We have children´s groups during both services (9 and 11AM) and special events throughout the year.

Youth Ministry includes Middle School students (grades 6-8, sometimes known as Junior High) and High School students (grades 9-12). In addition to weekly Sunday morning gatherings at 11AM, we offer other activities throughout the year. We view integration of these students into all aspects of our community as an important part of their spiritual growth and personal connection to Cedar Ridge.

The other side of the integrated-church community coin is the reality that children and youth ministries depend on the participation of adults! We´re not just talking about parents or other adults who are expert teachers with all the answers. We mean adults, leaders, who have gone ahead on the journey of a life following Jesus to befriend young people and can help lead the way. These friends teach, lead discussions, ask good questions, encourage better questions, join in games, help with crafts, support practical needs and much more.

Many adults find that serving with our children and youth becomes a unique and integral part of their personal and spiritual growth as part of their experience of Cedar Ridge. If you´d like to become involved, contact Bryan Peterson.
