This group is now live. Our church-wide email lists (Classifieds and Prayer) have been transfered here.

The Community group is intended to offer a space where subscribers can:

  • share about prayer and invite others to join with you in prayer
  • find practical help recommended by other Cedar Ridgers, or give away or sell personal items
  • invite people to a community-building / social event
  • share about practical ways you see our vision being lived out (For example, sheltering from the frenzied pace of life, serving our neighbors, caring for the poor, living simply and ethically, becoming better people …)
  • for those new to the church to connect with other Cedar Ridgers in your neighborhood

It is not intended for:

  • business advertisements
  • forwarded articles, links, news items, chain emails, etc. Posts to the group should be from original senders.
  • political views or other opinions that might cause division. We are a diverse group of people and we want the focus to be on what unites us.

Memorial Service for Ed Rude

On Saturday August 28th at 5PM we will hold memorial service for our beloved friend Ed Rude, who passed on last Friday after a six-month struggle with cancer. The service will be in the main church building and there will be a small reception on the lower level of the barn afterwards. All are welcome.

Prayer for Audi family

Steve's Dad passed away this morning from cancer.  He was an amazing man of God and changed many lives through his prayers and counseling.  We are so excited to know that Dad has been healed and is rejoicing with the Lord in heaven.  But it's still difficult to know he's no longer with us.  Thanks for all your prayers and support throughout the past few months.

Prayer for a friend's brother

Please pray for the brother of a dear friend who is in critical condition in Fairfax Hospital due to a contagious virus.  His name is Gary and he's 55 years old. He had a liver transplant 10 years ago and because of the immuno suppressants he takes to prevent rejection, he's apparently susceptible to many things.  He went into a coma, his kidneys shut down yesterday and he had a seizure.  His prognosis is unsure at this point.  He's on a ventilator to help him breathe, but they might try taking it out tomorrow to see if he's breathing on his own.

Prayer for Rasel/Brown Family

Please pray for Shannon Rasel and her family. Her father Rodney Brown passed away Friday, Aug 13th from heart related issues. Although his health was poor, this news was a surprise to Shannon. The funeral will most likely be at the end of this week. Please join me in prayer for Jake and Shannon's loss. Thank you.

CCDA Gathering in Chicago

Hi Folks,

   I wanted to let you all know about the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA)'s annual national conference being held this year from Tuesday Sept 7-Friday Sept 10. CCDA was founded by John Perkins and has emphasized the 3 r's of community development--Relocation, redistribution, and reconciliation. There are a lot of great seminars and plenary sessions at this year's gathering. Visit ccda.org for more info and registration.
