Dear Cedar Ridge:
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. With all the snowy weather it has been quite an incredible season. I do hope you’ve been able to rest, spend time with loved ones, and that the miracle of incarnation has become more vivid and real for you.
I want to wish you a very Happy New Year. May God give you the deepest desires of your heart in 2010! I also wanted to express my own gratefulness to the whole Cedar Ridge community for all the love, sacrifice, patience and commitment you have displayed this past year. I am so proud to be part of a community like this and grateful to God for the beauty and diversity among us. At thanksgiving I wrote a note looking back on the past year at Cedar Ridge (you can read it here). We have so much to be grateful for and even though we all face many challenges, we can have great confidence in the knowledge that Jesus is with us. This Sunday (January 3rd) we begin a new two-week series called Hope Renewed. While at Christmas we celebrated God coming to be present with humanity, during this series we will be looking ahead to the New Year and reflecting on the incredible hope we can have for our lives because God is present.
God is with us and may the light and life of Christ fill us with peace and hope as we enter the New Year
